Mark 2 fish tank, 140 litre freshwater tropicalDespite our early problems, the Mark 1 tank was a popular part of the house. Once we felt we had the hang of what we were doing (well, sort of), we decided to replace it with a bigger tank. The replacement was the tank described here. ![]() If you have a whoppingly big monitor, or don't mind scrolling, you can see a much bigger version of this picture (291K). The picture above shows the basic layout of the tank from when we set it up in Sept 98 until July 03 when it was rescaped a little. The fishkeeper's diary describes some of the major changes that happened. From the start, the tank was envisaged as a planted tank with fish in, as opposed to a fish tank with some plants. This attitude influenced many factors in the set-up of the tank, as well as contributing towards some of the headaches !! |
